<<< For those who happen to come across this blog post and doubt the value of a positive mind. >>>

What kind of outlook do you have on life?

If your immediate thought to that question was, “OH NO! Not another mindset question. I’m sick of that kind of thing. It’s so stupid!”  -  I would say to you that you need this more than anyone. You need your world to be rocked in a way that helps you see the need for the RIGHT way to think.

How can I say something like this? And what gives me the right to to say it? … especially to you?!

Well, if you could have met me 17 years ago, you would have either left the room or asked me to leave the room. Why? Because was the epitome of pessimism. I was nothing but negative. If you handed me a million dollars, I would have found something wrong with it. My motto back then was, “Just my luck!”

But what about now? Am I like that? Short answer = no.

You won’t believe what my wife called me just the other day! Ready for this? “OPTIMISTIC”!  That’s right. Positive.

So what made me change? The answer to this is also a simple answer.

What made me change was “A Decision”. I simply decided to change. I don’t know if it’s a real term or not but I simply flooded my brain with as much positive information, personal development and  processing as humanly possible. I read the Bible and really dug into it. In fact, that’s where I found value in myself. Without sounding too preachy, I realized that I am a valuable creature. A creature that has been created in the likeness of God Almighty.

I learned that it really doesn’t matter what people think so much. But as long as I do my best, be my best and think my best, everything falls where it should… for better or worse. I do what I can. Control what I can. And the rest “is what it is”.

This may sound a little PollyAnna. But you may be surprised to find that there are more like me. There are actually a LOT more like me. They have overcome many more challenges that I have. They have had much more influence in the world that I may ever know. If I named them, you would recognize their names. But if you do not have an open mind to MINDSET, you wouldn’t care. You would just pass it off as someone knowing the right people. Or someone in the right place at the right time. Or someone just being lucky.

Not until you make your DECISION to change your MINDSET will you fully appreciate the true value of a POSITVE and CREATIVE MIND.

God bless,
Mark

How was your Christmas and News Years?

I bet you have story after story racing through your mind right now!

Well let me tell you mine before you start into what you had going on. First, our heater broke down. I live in the deep south, and it doesn’t get as cold as some parts of the country. But we felt the c-c-c-c-cold! We actually had to NOT run it because, if we did, we would die. The gas company guy that came out, said, “You may not want to turn this on or you may wake up dead.” And since we didn’t want to be one of “those stories”, we decided to *rough it*.

That was before Christmas.

Have you seen The Incredibles? Great flick! It’s a Disney movie. Animated. There’s one scene in there where Mr. Incredible gets fed up with everyone glorifying mediocrity.

Now this movie is several years old, but I still remember vividly how that made me feel when I heard him say that. It struck a nerve in me so deep it made me change how I looked at life from that point on. Sure. It was a line in a movie. But don’t we do that for real? In the real world? Glorify mediocrity?

Think about it…
